FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Where are you located? Physically, we have two studios located in Toronto, Canada and Maryland, USA. However, we are not open for walk-in traffic, except for referrals. Therefore, we are available (or rather, located) “on the web” for remote (unattended) mixing and mastering.
  2. I don’t feel comfortable having my material mixed or mastered while I’m not present. What should I do? Not being present should not be a problem as long as we communicate well. However, if that is still not to your satisfaction, you will need to find a studio in your local area where you can attend your mixing / mastering session(s).
  3. How much do you charge for your services? You can find information about our rates here.
  4. What if I receive my final master and don’t like what I hear. Do I get my money back? Clear communication is the key. We will work with you on a limited number of revisions in order to make sure you are happy with the final master.
  5. Is your equipment professional grade? Absolutely. We don’t have anything we wouldn’t want to use with confidence on our own projects.
  6. How long have you been in business? The studio itself is fairly new, having been built across two facilities in the last 4 years or so. However, we’ve been writing and recording material for close to 20 years and have plenty of knowledge and experience under our belt.
  7. How long does it take to mix or master a song or album? Generally, it takes 2-4 hours per song for mixing (or longer depending on the total number of tracks and the structure of the song), and 20-30 minutes per song for mastering. These numbers can be projected to calculate the amount of time it takes to mix or master a complete album.
  8. How do I send you my material? After we’ve spoken to you about your project, you can send it to us as zipped .wav or .aif files using our dropbox or mail us your material on a CD-R or DVD.
  9. What type of files do you accept? We accept wav. or aif. files at resolutions up to 32-bit / 192kHz. These files are universal and fit with the concept of working with clients around the globe. Except for private or referral projects, we generally don’t accept tape or other formats. Please read our PROCESS page for additional information.
  10. How do I pay for your services? We accept payment via PayPal (Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. They also process e-checks). You do not need an account in order to use PayPal. Keep in mind that we can only accept currencies that PayPal accepts.
  11. How do I receive my files or master once you’re done? Upon completion, most clients prefer to have a CD-R master mailed to them. We can also send your files as DDP images via FTP client directly to the manufacturing plant of your choice when applicable.
